Frontenac, July 15, 2026 – The World Centre of Excellence for Destinations (CED) is proud to support the Corporation du patrimoine archéologique du Méganticois (CPAM)

for the 2026 tourist season of the Cliche-Rancourt-Mamsalhabika archaeological site—recognized as the oldest archaeological site in Quebec.

Thanks to the financial contribution of the CED, combined with that of the Municipality of Frontenac, admission to the site will be entirely free for visitors throughout the season. This offers a rare, barrier-free opportunity to connect with millennia of history.

This year also marks a major turning point for the site, with new amenities designed to enrich the visitor experience. A brand-new welcome pavilion and modernized interpretive panels along the archaeological trail will immerse visitors in Quebec’s Indigenous and prehistoric heritage in a clear, engaging, and highly accessible way.

But this is only a preview. The future developments currently being planned—which visitors will be able to preview—will transform Cliche-Rancourt-Mamsalhabika into a premier destination resort. This major attraction will significantly strengthen and enrich the tourism offerings of both the Mégantic Region and the Eastern Townships.
